We Must Believe in Jesus - Mark 16:16 and More

Is believing in Jesus more then being born again? Is there more to the Christian life then being a believer and is it possible to meet Jesus on earth and shake is hand and hug him? This author has done it and if you're a believer whose faith is alive you might see Jesus in a vision as a result of the prayer in this article.

Mark 16:16 (New King James Version)

16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Luke 9:35 (New King James Version)

35 And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"

John 12:36 (New King James Version)

36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.

John 6:29 (New King James Version)

29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

John 20:29 (New King James Version)

29 Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

John 14:6 (New King James Version)

6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Many people think it is sufficient to be born again but surely being saved is more then just believing in Jesus as most Non Christians believe in Jesus Christ. Believe therefore is more of an action word as the Father says in Luke 9:35 above that Jesus is his beloved Son and we should hear Him.

Christians seem to have a lot of faith in God but seem most times to be in a type of cocoon that says, "I am born again and I am saved and that is enough as salvation is a free gift and I don't have to work for it." But believing in Jesus is not thinking it is doing. To believe in Jesus you need to be acting like him. James, Jesus brother said it like this.

James 2:14-20

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

This verse show quite clearly that even demons believe in God and Jesus. When was on earth even the demons pronounced him to be the Messiah and the Son of God before the people recognised it. So knowing this we should do more then just believe in Jesus.

Believe is an action word.

Believing in Jesus is hearing Him. Hearing Jesus is knowing what He taught and acting that way toward our fellow man.

One day I read a book that said the author met Jesus on earth. I prayed that night that I too would have the honour of meeting Jesus on earth. Since that action, I have met Jesus on earth in the flesh once and forty or so more times as He came in visions to earth. I have had many experiences where not only Jesus came to earth but He has brought other visitors from heaven. I have met Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Jesus on earth, John the Apostle, Paul the Apostle, Elijah, Martha ,Mary's sister and others including Gabriel and Michael the arch angels. Little did I know with the faith of a child that this would happen for me, but now that I have met Jesus all these times, I expect to meet Him often, that is I believe that He will visit me often.

The question is, do you believe in Jesus enough to obey Him? Do you obey Him sufficiently to have the faith that he could open your spiritual eyes? I believed in Him and spoke to Him for many years before I saw Him and was like the person Jesus addressed to Thomas in the verse above. Now I have seen Him and my faith has grown by leaps and bounds.

Let me pray for you.

Father,

I pray that you increase the faith of the person reading this teaching. I pray that their belief in your Son might result in action as they begin to search out all the commands of Jesus and start to obey them one by one. To those with the faith in the unseen I pray that you open their eyes and visit them in a vision as you have done to me. Your prophet prophesy that people will have visions in these last days so I have the faith to pronounce and opening of spiritual eyes on the faithful readers.

In Jesus name I ask so your Son Might be glorified.

Praise God for His answers to prayer.
